Domina
is currently seeking people for two ongoing fine art projects for the fall and winter seasons.

Objects D'Art is a series of fine art nudes that explores the seductive use of the female form in advertising, media and culture.  Women have often been the muse historically in art and not the image makers.  Domina hopes to critique the objectification of women in media, meanwhile empowering women.  This project will be used in gallery shows and made into a hard bound photo book of approximately 60 images.  If you are interested in this project please contact Domina at domina@fatalefemmes.com.  You do not have to be a model to take part in this project, but you must identify as a woman.

Imagio is a series of sensual and macabre fine art nudes that explores the tension between that which attracts and repells.  Using Jungian archetypes and dream imagery, Domina hopes to explore cultural myths and icons that are both seductive and horrific.  This project will be used in gallery shows and made into a hard bound photo book of approximately 40 images.  If you are interested in this project please contact Domina at domina@fatalefemmes.com.  You do not have to be a model to take part in this project.  Male and female models may apply.  Some full and partial nudity will be used in various images.

Domina will be holding auditions for these projects beginning in November.

Passion of ChristWhen Domina is not working on her commericial work for clients, she creates one-of-a-kind works for galleries, artists run centres and exhibition purposes.  Formally trained as a visual artist with six years eduction in fine art photography, film and video installation works, Domina foremost passion is creating compelling works that critique popular culture and mainstream media.  Inspired by the avant-garde and surrealist movements, Jungian archetypes, the psychological theories and dream studies of Sigmund Freud, Domina's works explore the psychic and social transformation of the individual through the imagination of the subconscious.

Domina uses alternative and experimental techniques while exploring the possibilities of the medium itself through an artistic manipulation of time and space to create works that are willingful nonconformist and challenge formal expectations.  She uses a variety of techniques including collage and montage, superimposition, distortion, haptic imagery, distressing of negatives or prints, and reworking or negatives and prints using drawing, scratching or painting techniques and optical printing. Stylistically, she enjoys the use of expressive lighting and set design, associative form, repetitive motifs, variation, and the juxtaposition of contrasting elements to convey mood or create fragmented poetic narratives.

Domina is interested in exploring themes of the subconcious, dream imagery, fears and terrors, the uncanny, doubling and dualism, decay, destruction, rebirth and transformation, madness, states of altered reality, memory and regression, voyeurism and the gaze, lack, desire and absense, confinement and transcendance, using metaphor and symbolism, iconography and mythopoetic interests to create a sensory and perceptual experience.

If you are interested in inviting Domina to participate in a gallery show, exhibition or to purchase her work please contact her.  Her CV is available upon request.
